Wing of Cover - but not quite

Homebrew and House Rules

What does the community think of something like this (Is it totally over the top)?:

Deflection

Lvl 2
Casting time: Immediate action
Components: V,S
Range: Personal
Target: Personal
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: None

With the speed of thought, the sorcerer can raise a shield against an incoming spell or Spell-Like Ability, which has him as the target; it does not grant protection from AoE spell.

The shield provides the sorcerer with a SR of 5 plus his caster level.

After using this spell the sorcerer is fatigued. Using it again while still fatigued leaves him staggered. No further conditions are applied after this.

While I will not dig into the power level of the spell (SR 5+CL will get you a measly 15% chance to evade a personal spell from a Level-appropriate caster opponent)...

Last time I checked, fatigued increased into exhausted, rather than staggered. Why go another route?

While we're at it... how long do you want the staggered condition to last? (Fatigued and Exhausted tend to go away with rest or curative magic, while Staggered needs a duration)

You state 'Level 2'. Level 2 for whom? Sor/Wiz? Cleric? Pally? Inquisitor? Red Mantis Assassin? Sorcerer only? (as you state 'Sorcerer' in your mechanics text)

Which School does your spell belong to? (I suspect Abjuration)

No, it's fine. Fatigued to staggered is odd, though. Shouled be to exhausted. I'd change last part to:

"After using this spell the sorcerer is fatigued. If already fatigued (such as from a previous casting of this spell), he instead becomes exhausted. No further conditions are applied after this."

You should specify it is Sorc-only. Also, the school. IIRC, WoC was Evocation, but this one always made more sense to me as Abjuration.

I think that I would consider bumping SR a bit. 20% chance against the same CL attacker for single use spell is not very much. Especially with the side effect.

I see no reason why to limit this spell to Sorcerers only.

Added Abjuration as school, added Wiz/Sor as spell list it is on, added 3 more to basis SR so it is 8+Caster Lvl, changed condition from staggered to exhausted.

Deflection

Lvl 2 Wiz/Sor (Magus?)
