I have a PC with a character that has a rage ability from two different sources, (1) a barbarian (2) a were-wolverine. What I'd like to ask, is wether or not all of the rage abilities should stack. I know as DM what I say is what goes, but yet I want to be fair. My view is that the durations would stack for a longer rage, but not the stat adjustments. His old DM said that it did, but I'm thinking that's a bit much. Any comments or views are appreciated, Thanks.

Generally rage effects from any source grants a Morale bonus, preventing them from stacking. Wolverine rage doesn't seem to have a type though, so if you are giving him the same rage ability, they would stack. In the end, it is your call as to whether you want to let them stack or not. If you do give him the wolverine rage, be aware that it has unlimited rounds per day, but cannot be voluntarily started or stopped. It simply starts on taking damage and ends on death of an involved party.

My issue is I've been out of the loop game wise for a bit and I'm getting ready to DM a up coming game. This guys character in question is a half-orc barbarian lvl 2, with the Orgekin template +1 cr, an the were wolverine +3 cr. My players thinking when he rages , he rages two different ways, first as a barbarian, an second if he wants to or is injured he goes all wolverine. Were playing at aroung 5th-6th level and with the stacking he believes he has an approx str score of 36. At this level thats just nuts.

Thank You for your advice. If we were tallking 2nd ed, no prob, I dam near knew it all, or owned the books to figure it out. An I like the 3.5/Pathfinder feel the game has now. 4th ed is not Dnd, I have no idea what that is. But again thanks, I guess this is what i get for letting someone bring in a "My old DM said it would work" character.
