No, you can't "multiclass" in two different archetypes of the same class. Any levels taken in a given class must all be of the same archetype(s), and any subsequent levels you take in that class add to your total class levels in that class. Therefore, you can either be a siege mage 2, or a regular wizard 2, but not level 1 in each.
You could take siege mage 1 and then go sorcerer, though I haven't really looked at the archetype to determine if this would be advantageous or not.

You get real advantage by staying in wizard. You can load and fire the siege engine without a crew at lvl 10.
The empower ability requires that you sacra ice spells. Since it has to be wizard spells being stuck at lvl 1 would kind of suck for that.
Really the at has lots of reasons to be advanced in. The problem is ensuring you have a siege engine handy.

you can take reloading hands much earlier and it also allows you to hit as if ghost touch and magical weapon http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/r/reloading-hands and after 3rd lvl wizard you no longer need anything from the class and archetype
