I love flipping through book and coming up with new and intersting ways to combine things. As a result, I was thinking of a character concept. Has anyone played anything like this before? What do you think of its viability?
Gunslinger 1/Wizard (Foresight)5/Eldritch Knight x
Human
1: GS1 Dodge, Mobility
2: Wiz1
3: Wiz2 Deft Shootist
4: Wiz3
5: Wiz4 Extra Grit
6: Wiz Bonus feat: Bouncing Spell
7: Eldritch Knight 1 Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot
8: EK2
9: EK3 Weapon Focus: Pistol
10: EK4
11: EK5 Weapon Spec: Pistol, Improved Critical
etc.
Looking for some feedback on the build. I didn't do ability scores, just looking at the class/feat structure.

I've read the archetype and don't quite like it. I'm specifically avoiding that archetype, actually. True, there are good perks, but the four oppositionb schools and the loss of Cantrips is a little much. BTW, the EK class requires proficiency with all martial weapons and a straight Spellslinger fails to qualify. So, while the build does seem like that a bit, sacrificing one level of spellcasting and getting the base powers of the Wizard class (and the Prescience of the Foresight school) seems better.

Indeed. It's a total squarepegging of the Wizard class to give them a firearms option. If you want a far better version of that, check out the Gun Mage from Iron Kingdoms. It's a secondary caster (like bard), but an excellent class with great abilities. Needs minor tweaks for Pathfinder, but excellent nonetheless.

I'd say go with the Spellslinger completely personally. Saves time, energy, and gives you a bonus to spell attacks and save DC's. That and you lose out on the all the Deeds by just taking the one level of Gunslinger. You can easily decide which schools you don't need based on the theme you plan to work towards. Keep Illusion and Transmutation if you need stealth to be more assassin-like. Evocation and, to a lesser extent, Conjuration if you wanna blast.
The ability to sack your spells for the sake of better attacks is a boon when you don't have a spell you need prepared and a currently useless one in its place. My two coppers here :P

Instead of Gunslinger, I would go Musketeer instead. The reason is that they get to add their Cavalier level to Fighter for applying bonus feats that affect guns. Challenges are also quite strong, and even though they last 1 a day, you can get a little extra boost from it.
I don't have two copper, can anyone break a silver?
