Has anyone accepted Prince Batsaikhar's... "Offer"? (Spoilers)

Jade Regent

Prince Batsaikhar proposed to my group's oread inquisitor at the Feast of Honoured Visitors today, having claimed to see great beauty in her marble skin and red gemstone hair, an offer which she accepted (I honestly can`t say why she did though). I found the whole ordeal hilarious, as less than a full day later she was practically begging her fellow PCs to help her escape, getting away from Batsaikhar to the Forest of Spirits. They graciously complied.

Of course the prince is now furious that the PCs have essentially just conned him out of the ruby of Hongal, which means I get to liven-up the 500-mile journey between Ordu-Aganhei and the Forest of Spirits with some encounters of Hongal warriors come to retrieve the treasure, and perhaps take back the prince's new wife, who he suspects may have been kidnapped by the other PCs and forced to go with them despite her great love for him (heh).

So, have any other PCs taken the marriage offer? If so, how did it go?

I'm sure Prince Batsaikhar is grieving greatly at the loss of his newfound wife. It certainly must be the fault of his diplomatic staff for allowing such a breach of etiquette to take place on their watch. Perhaps if they weren't so distracted by their own loving families this would have never happened.

I imagine his grief is so great that he has begun to kill off the wives and children of his staff so they can be reminded of how it feels to lose love on daily basis! It's only fair really and they should be thankful that their most noble prince is capable of making such a hard choice on their behalf!

I'm so excited about my groups making it to Batsaikhar... His is the perfect mix of 'divine right' and 'asian style fealty' gone wrong.

Yes, Batsaikhar is practically a dream come true to run for a GM, and a nightmare to the players. I had so much fun with him while they slowly grew to fear his smile and hate his guts.

My players actually succeeded at every challenge during the feasts (an astounding number of high rolls occurred, the only low ones happening during wrestling, where their opponent was rolling low too), and the Tien-speaking one loved to watch him grow more and more angry with his "talentless" performers each time they succeeded.
