I created a Dryad with 3 levels of Sorcerer, and I'm wondering about a rule that is in the bestiary where it says to modify the monster's ability scores with +4, +4, +2, +2, +0, -2. This seems like it would generate an extremely overpowered monster since the Dryad already has Str 10, Dex 19, Con 13, Int 14, Wis 15, and Cha 18. Furthermore, I upgraded the character in Hero Labs and the system didn't give me any kind of prompt that indicated I should raise the ability scores.
Am I missing something?

That sounds a lot like 3.5's Elite Array. Are you sure you're not confusing the two? A quick perusal through the Advancing Monsters section of the Bestiary revealed nothing like that. The closest thing was the Advanced template.
No, it's accurate. Anything with levels in PC classes gets the elite array (as do NPCs). It's still in definite Pathfinder use.
And it's part of why PC classes are higher CR than NPC classes, so it should very much be kept in use. A Dryad Sorceress 3 is CR 6...1 less than a Succubus. Would you like to compare those stats? Even with the bonus from a PC class, the Dryad won't be anywhere close.

I am too poor to buy books. Give me a moment while I PRD that. :)
Ah ha! I see! Yup, that's how it works. Classes just get better stats than NPCs. They also get a CR boost, I believe. Or rather, NPC classes get a CR reduction, I think?
It's probably because classes actually require stats to even be able to function. A lower array might not even be functional for PC classes. *shrug*

No worries. I actually found that first in the PRD, I think.

NPC classes have a CR of Level-2. PC classes have a CR of Level-1 (assuming NPC wealth totals).
It's basically assumed you will never add NPC classes to anything with Racial HD, that's what their Racial HD are for.

And because PC class people are assumed to be somewhat exceptional.
