Rusalka Monk, Improved Unarmed Strike + Staggering Touch?

Rules Questions

If I were to make a Rusalka (B3, page 232) a monk, or even just give it Improved Unarmed Strike, would its staggering touch ability work with its unarmed strikes?

On one hand staggering touch itself is phrased as "A creature touched by a rusalka must make a DC27 Fortitude save...", on the other hand it's listed as a melee attack of its own.

Not sure if that's because it's meant to be a separate attack, or just because she normally doesn't have unarmed strikes to deliver it with.

Rusalka

Hmm, everything I've seen RAW indicates it should be it's own standard action attack rather than activating on an UAS.

Might I suggest the Conductive weapon property AoMF?

Thanks for the clarification, and the excellent suggestion.

This'll be fun to use when I get the chance.

Just remember to read the last sentence of Conductive, prevents shenanigans.
This weapon property can only be used once per round, and only works with magical abilities of the same type as the weapon (melee or ranged).

Once per round is a good point. As for melee or ranged, well I don't think a Ruskala monk has any range anyways, so that's not really a problem.

I actually tried to get some discussion going after looking at this...(without much feedback)

RAW, I agree that the wording restricts it to once per round, no matter how many sources you have. I'm not convinced that was fully the intent.
But, I agree that once per round is plenty, staggering most of a party would be fairly deadly.

Definitely. And even with only one staggering she can still potentially be staggering one PC and grappling/constricting another every round. Add her quickened charm monster, entangle at will, summoned water elementals, and the fact that Rusalkas like to keep a few monsters or humanoids around to protect them and you've got fun times.
