Creating a swashbuckling captain for Skull and Shackles

Skull & Shackles

So I want to create a character fit to be the captain in S&S (Regardless of whether or not this is possible I want a captain feel to him). I want a swashbuckling, grog drinking, pirate talking, old salt, and the way I see it I have a few options and I was wondering if anyone else out there had a similar idea and wouldn't mind brainstorming and helping me out.
So far my options are

-(Weapon master: cutlass) Fighter
A guy with a cutlass, nuff said.

-(Pirate) Rogue
Now this one is tricky, only because it seems NO ONE has any real clue as to what "Swinging reposition" actually does. It fits well with both skills and class role. Probably prestige to shackes pirate or inner sea pirate.

-(Bladebound) Magus
This one presented an interesting concept. The character wields a cutlass passed down from his pirate ancestor, at 3rd level it awakens with the spirit of his pirate ancestor. For this option I did not want to do the standard dervish dance build, I kind of hate it.

-(Freebooter) Ranger
The concept here is that he leads from the front designating targets for the crew to attack. Grab some two weapon fighting feats and wield a cutlass and short sword.

For all these options I have planned on taking the Buccaneer's Blood trait to increase my infamy and wielding a cutlass. Anyone have any ideas?

An Inquisitor with the Black Powder Inquisition, or Worshiper of Cixyron. Instead of a cutlass, you can use a hook hand. If you choose Cixyron, consider the Conversion, or Heresy Inquisition.

Sounds interesting, but who is Cixyron?

With the musket as the favored weapon, you gain proficiency, and the fluff is limited, allowing you to elaborate as you please.

Dark Archive

ARcane duelist bard.
Musketeer Luring cavalier (Order of the Cockatrice)

Sczarni

Besmara, The Pirate Queen. The ONLY god a pirate should worship.

I still like the hookhand and musket, or pistol and scimitar.

Seeing as there seems to be no fluff and he has the Earth Domain, might as well just get a musket and leave the Daemon Lords out of it.

I would suggest Tactician (Fighter) as it sort of has an air of authority. All your builds make for fine pirates, but I am not sure that I would see anything that would make me think they were Captains.

I think you need to have a chat with your GM. Specifically, how would s/he rule on the Swinging Reposition question? This seems like it would be HUGELY useful on board a ship or when boarding another ship, but have dwindling use elsewhere. You might be able to use ropes for chandeliers and whatnot (like in the movies), but it's going to depend on your GM's willingness to work with you.

On anything involving black powder, again, ask your GM. Some people love this stuff, others hate it. Of all the campaigns, it seems to me S&S is the most suited to firearms, but it'll be up to the GM. Also clarify what era of firearms.

If you're going for something traditional, I'd stay away from the gish/spellsword type stuff.

All of that said, personally, I'd lean towards either the Rogue (Pirate) or the Inquisitor (probably black powder inquisition) ideas, but I'd want to talk with the GM first about any issues there.
