Will furry kobolds work in Kingmaker?

I'm a fan of ye olde school kobolds with the waggily tails, and (as a Suikoden fan) their having different 'breeds' of kobold similar to human ethnic divides.

Is there anything in the AP that will make this difficult or impossible without say more than an hour's work rewriting box text and such?

Not really, there's nothing lost with a quick reskin, they only appear in the first book so any expansion on them is entirely up to the GM.

Kobolds were never furry even in first edition, they were scaly rat-spaniel-lizard people.

In the red box Kobolds were "Small evil dog like men. They have scaley rust brown skin and no hair" and a "dog-like voice." I always thought of them as doggy until the AD&D MM pic.

I think furry kobolds will impact Kingmaker about as much as... say, having human woman take great pride in their luxurious, silky beards. So go for it.

As opposed to the standard assumption of women being ashamed in their luxurious, silky beards.

Are said beards silky, silky smooth?
