Sohei wearing Monk's robe

Rules Questions

So if a Sohei wears a monk's robe, does he get any bonus off it?
The Sohei is a monk but he doesn't get increased unarmed damage.

He wears armor so he doesn't get the AC bonus.

He doesn't have stunning fist, so again no bonus.

Or would he get increased unarmed damage as if he wasn't a monk?

FYI in pathfinder both robes and armor take up the same slot. =)

To my knowledge, it is different slots. Armor being the armor slot, a robe being the body slot.

Since the Sohei Monk does not have the abilities granted by the Monks Robe, I would rule that he get the increased unarmed damage as a non-monk.

He doesn't have to wear armor so he could get the AC bonus. He can take Stunning Fist feat.

Robes and Armor are two different slots.

Remember that it has been (unofficially) clarified that you still can't Flurry with armor on as a Sohei (even though you might think otherwise, considering you get armor prof and still have flurry).

What.

They already broke sohei with the flurry/TWF ruling. Now this? : (

Sorry to disappoint, but the guy who actually wrote the archetype chipped in on a thread where it was discussed and clarified his intent of not being able to flurry while in armor. Kinda strange, but he felt it would be a little too good or something along those lines. If I wasn't too lazy I'd find the post for you, but... yeah. :P

I believe it. It's just another archetype that will be very difficult to play, given that they're designed around both wearing armor and flurrying with nonstandard weapons.

The clarification where made after all those munckin build come up meshing up 5 level of sohei with whatever other class you felt like, most commonly warrior, just to get to TWF with 2HW including bows.

That never seemed broken to me. Five levels is a bit of a tax.
