Yes, another Dervish Dance thread...
Had a rules question on the interaction between the Dervish Dance feat and attacking with an off-hand gauntlet/spiked gauntlet/cestus question.
First, Dervish Dance states
Dervish Dance (Combat)
You have learned to turn your speed into power, even with a heavier blade.
Prerequisites: Dexterity 13, Weapon Finesse, Perform (dance) 2 ranks, proficient with scimitar.
Benefit: When wielding a scimitar with one hand, you can use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on melee attack and damage rolls. You treat the scimitar as a one-handed piercing weapon for all feats and class abilities that require such a weapon (such as a duelist’s precise strike ability). The scimitar must be for a creature of your size. You cannot use this feat if you are carrying a weapon or shield in your off hand.
If you are wielding a gauntlet/spiked gauntlet/cestus in your off-hand, does that count as carrying a weapon or shield in your off hand?

Probably, though the gauntlet thing would be pretty mean if your armor comes with them. I think the carry restriction is pretty ridiculous, myself. As long as you weren't attacking with it, don't see why it should matter what you're holding.
Why are you trying to attack with it, though? Beat a damage reduction that requires B or P? The DR would have to be above 5 for the loss of dex to damage and lower base weapon damage to be worth it, most likely...

I would not let someone attack with a gauntlet etc with the offhand and also benefit from Dervish Dance. I would consider the hand 'used' just as much as if they wanted to make a natural weapon claw attack with it and then quickdraw a greatsword to swing in both hands.
More fringe, though allowable would be armor spikes, unarmed strikes, barbazu beards, boot knives and natural weapons that do not involve either hand (i.e. bites, tentacles, etc).

Yeah, I was asking for a PFS character, where I wanted to two-weapon fight with Dervish Dance. Since I'd have some Monk levels, unarmed strikes would work but the Amulet of Mighty Fists is so frickin expensive to only make half of my attacks with, but perhaps that's the way I gotta go.
