We Don't Have a Rogue or Cleric, Best Way to Compensate?

Advice

After much debate and changing of minds we have come up with:

Ranger, Fighter, Wizard, Magus, Monk....that's our group.

What is the best way to compensate? I know characters could multi-class but at low levels we want to avoid that for a little while and try to make up for it in other ways.

The Ranger or Monk could buff up Perception for trap finding, that's make the most sense. We aren't above using some house rule tweaks, playing a Sky-Rim style game where one or all of them have a "Healing" spell but I wanted to ask for other ideas before we settle on one.

What's to compensate? Just try to find other solutions to problems you encounter. Don't be married to the traditions of 'healing' and 'trapfinding'.

Assuming it's either a TWF or Archer Ranger, he will be very useful for disabling traps. He gets Perception as a class skill, and should have a good DEX and WIS.

As for healing, again the Ranger is your party's best friend. He has Cure Light Wounds on his spell list, so get a Wand of Cure Light Wounds.

Yea, I suppose you are right. It's just been drilled into our minds since olden times that you GOTTA have a way to do those things! :-)

Silver Crusade

I assume you are the GM right?

You are low on healing but the Ranger can use CLW Wands so that's not too much of an issue. Just make sure that they can get hold of wands relatively easily. Reasonable access to lesser restoration potions might be useful too.

As for traps, you have a monk. Let him go first and use his evasion to ignore the damage. Traps aren't that much of an issue anyway all they do is cause a little bit of damage. No big deal.

The one thing you might find as an issue is a lack of remove disease/remove blindness/restoration (for permanent negative levels). You could encourage the Magus to take UMD to allow him to use scrolls of these spells. Alternatively you could make it easy for the players to get to friendly local temples to have these issues dealt with.

you have a volunteer who does a Bard(archaeologist),
OR
Having the Wizard change to witch would help in the healing department,
and the ranger takes the Urban archetype and gets trap finding.
