Two questions

Homebrew and House Rules

First, Paladins Divine Bond, Weapon. Is it once per day for listed time or can the time be divided?

Second, Crafting a Wondrous Item.

Item of Magic Armor (CL:1)
Five Times per day would be 1800 (1x1x1800=1800)
Continuous would be 2000 (1x1x2000=2000)

Is that accurate? If so, why would anyone by a first lvl spell item anything but Continuous (Assuming of course it has a duration lobger than Instant)

  1. RAW indicates once per day for the listed time. Strange, given that most other PF abilities switched to divisible abilities; maybe they thought it would be a little OP if you could divide it round by round.

  2. Assuming you mean mage armor: The spell is measured in hours per level, so yes, that looks correct. Remember, though, the tables are for GMs calculating item values; they may not correspond directly to the costs for crafting custom items. In particular, a GM may note that the continuous item in question is functionally equivalent to bracers of armor +4 (CL notwithstanding) and use that item's requirements.

Divine Bond: "A paladin can use this ability once per day at 5th level, and one additional time per day for every four levels beyond 5th, to a total of four times per day at 17th level."

Each time you use the ability, it lasts for 1 minute per paladin level.

Magic Item Creation: "Many factors must be considered when determining the price of new magic items. The easiest way to come up with a price is to compare the new item to an item that is already priced, using that price as a guide."

Any custom item granting mage armor should be priced similar to Bracers of Armor.
