So I am trying to advance a raven and figure out its CR. It is an awakened raven and I want to increase its HD until it has 5 HD. However, looking at the tables for advancing monsters, they don't go below 1/2. So, how would I figure out the CR of a raven that now has 5 HD? Thank you.
Work out its resulting stats. Compare those and its abilities to the table and similar creatures and assign it a CR as appropriate.
You advance the HD and compare it to this chart.

I did try that. I'm essentially trying to rebuild a certain NPC from Jade Regent 2
Why do you want to do that? Maybe you can look for a monster who has the stats you want the raven to have and simply call it an "advanced raven": this way it's easier and more accurate.

Admittedly it's my own pride and stubbornly wanting to try and recreate something Paizo has made so I can better understand the game. I suppose if I can't figure it out, I could just shrink a roc or something.
