Modifying armor?

Advice

For fluff reasons I want to keep the Breastplate armor I acquired at low lvl's. Now I want to go to heavy armor and rebuild the Breastplate to a Full-Plate.

I don't want any kind of reduction in price, I would even pay extra to get it done. I'd imagine it possible for a blacksmith since the heavy armor is measured and build for a specific creature anyhow. Using the, already build to fit, medium armor can't be that hard.

Are there any precedents of this? Covered in the rules somewhere?
Thanks for any advice.

Look at the alternate armor rules in Ultimate Combat. A breastplate can have plate arms and leggings added to make it into full plate (or something very similar).

Great, thanks a lot!
I only have the core right now, but it seems I really want that UC as well.

Try this.

Linkie not working at the workspot, I'll check it this evening.

Thanks in advance.

Just talk to your GM.
Breastplate costs 200, Full plate costs 1500.
Since a Full-plate actually consists of a Breastplate plus additional stuff, I would let you upgrade it for 1300 gp.

But since you said you're not really looking for a way to save money, you can just buy the fullplate and fluff it as upgrade if your GM is against the above method.
