Quilted Armor and Armored Coat

A player in my campaign wants to wear both quilted armor and an armored coat. The idea is to get the DR from the quilted. coat and the AC from the armored coat. How do they stack, if at all?

Your player can do so; quilted cloth is light armor and an armored coat can be worn over it (it can be worn with light and medium armor). Also, the armored coat has this provision: If worn over other armor, use the better AC bonus and worse value in all other categories.

So that means that you'd get the armored coat's AC bonus (+4) over the quilted cloth's (+1), as well as the coat's Max Dex (+3), Armor Check penalty (-2), Arcane Spell Failure (20%), and Speed (20 ft.) as they are worse than the quilted cloth. (+8; 0; 10%; 30 ft)

Would he gett the DR against missiles?

Yes, he would still get that. No sense in depriving him of it as that's really the main draw of wearing the two armors in the first place.

Thanks! That's what I would have guessed, but I wanted to be sure. I probably would have ruled in the player's favor anyway.
