Hey All,
I have recently made the switch to Pathfinder from 4e, and have a little bit of a dilemma.
I had run the weekly two-hour Encounter games at one of the local games stores for over a year. The one thing that I realized fairly quickly was that it was good at bringing new players in. Every couple of months when a new 'season' would start up, I would ALWAYS get new people. And by new people I mean off the street and never played D&D before. It was a great tool for getting brand new people to get interested in rpgs.
I want to help promote a healthy Pathfinder community and finding ways to have new players join is good for everyone.
I'm trying to find something I can do with my, now open, Wednesday evenings that specifically targets getting new players into the game.
One of the local Venture Lieutenants had some good suggestions saying that I should use the new Intro scenarios as well as We Be Goblins.
I am shying away from using the Beginner's Box in this way, only because it ends up being a kind of bait-and-switch where the game changes on them when I move them into normal PFS play.
I could always just come up with my own material designed to be run in 1-2 hour blocks.
Does anyone have any other ideas/advice?
Thanks for the help!

About the Beginner's Box, I think if you make it clear up front that you're introducing them to a watered down version of the rules, and that the full game is more complex, then it's not really a bait and switch. It's probably a good way to introduce new players to the game in 1-2 hours.
PFS scenarios are designed to be played in 4 hour sessions, so you're not likely to find any you can run in a 2 hour time slot.

There are several that can run short (especially if Thea is the GM!), but usually that only happens with practice.
There are also a handful of PFS scenarios that could be chopped down and run in two hours, but if you do that, you shouldn't hand out chronicles for completion (which likely defeats the purpose).

Actually, the purpose here isn't necessarily running another PFS night so much as finding another avenue to attract new players that doesn't take four hours.
Thanks for the ideas!

I just wanted to point out that a player can make a legal Pathfinder Society character with only the Beginner Box and play that PC through 5th level. That means a new player could try out some short Beginner Box demos in a 2-hour format and if interested just use those simple rules to integrate into the larger Pathfinder Society community, and then convert 15 scenarios later when they reach 6th level.
You can find the Beginner Box character creation rules here.
