We all know that you have to have the appropriate spell available to create potions, scrolls, staffs, and wands; but can you get that spell from an outside source such as a potion, scroll, staff, wand, or fellow spellcaster?
For example: Can my sorcerer, who has Brew Potion but doesn't know cure light wounds, create a potion of cure light wounds if he has the cleric cast it on his behalf during the creation process?
I'm looking for RAW as well as RAI.

In Magic Item Creation it says (emphasis mine):
Quote:
Note that all items have prerequisites in their descriptions. These prerequisites must be met for the item to be created. Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item's creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed).
So, I'd say yes.
