My DM said this was a permanent sex change. It seems to me the standard cursd item status can be removed with anyone of the following: remove curse/break enchantment/ greater dispel magic. The standard item and the status it creates seems to work until one of those methods is used. Carrying from scenario to scenario. Is the cursed item a special version that can never be turned off and removed? The standard item says once the change has been made, it can be removed without effort.this would mean that I could take it off(still remain changed) and throw on another belt, or my eidolon can as I actually want.

Girdle of Opposite Gender" wrote:

When this magical belt is put on, the wearer must immediately make a DC 20 Fortitude saving throw or be transformed into a person of the opposite gender. The character's abilities, mind, and spirit remain unaffected; only the character's sex changes. If the character's saving throw is a natural 1, the item actually removes all gender from the wearer, giving him an androgynous, neutered appearance. The change is permanent unless undone with curse-removing magic. Once its magic takes effect, the belt can be removed without effort. A creature can only be affected by a particular girdle once, though other girdles of this type can cause another transformation.

I don't know if the scenario uses a different version, but assuming it's a 'normal' one, there's the rule. Yes, you can take the belt off. No, your gender won't change back. Not without curse-removing magic, anyway.

Can someone please remove the spoiler in the message title? I'm a little annoyed since I haven't played this yet.

I changed the thread title to remove a potential spoiler.

Since this is a gm board, I thought this would be the safe place to write about such, as opposed to the general board. I totally failed to realize that not everyone has gmed this specific scenario. Sorry that I spoiled it for a some.

Threads also show up on the sidebar whenever anyone posts in them, regardless of where the thread is actually located. That means everyone sees the thread even if they're actively avoiding the forums one would expect to have spoilers everywhere.

Don't sweat it, it's just something to watch out for. :)

The belt can be removed but removing the belt doesn't remove the curse. You need curse removing magic for that. It's the same cursed item from the APG. The stats are listed in the PRD - http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advanced/magicItems/cursedItems.html

Running this tomorrow - Any suggestions on how many hp the guards have in the scene with the cursed khopesh? Just in case the PCs are slow to stop the rampage but still want to try and save lives...

Thanks!

I had them as warrior 2s with 18 hp in my turnover. You could use Caravan Guards from the GMG 282, but not carrying lances, they have 17 hp.

Thanks very much Matt!

I'm running this scenario soon. I have a question on the air-elemental sorcerer. His tactics say to use spells converted to electricity (like fireball, ice storm), but I don't see any way for him to actually do that. I didn't notice anything in the elemental bloodline, and he doesn't have the elemental spell feat. Am I missing something?

It is the bloodline arcana of the elemental bloodline:

Quote:
Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you cast a spell that deals energy damage, you can change the type of damage to match the type of your bloodline. This also changes the spell’s type to match the type of your bloodline.

I'm prepping this to run later today (see you soon, Mike!) and have a question about Uspia, the ex-Cleric of Sarenrae. The scenario lacks any explicit Sense Motive DC to figure out what's going on, so I looked at her stat block to try to make one.

She has a CHA of 12 and no ranks in Bluff. A 'Take 10' DC is a paltry 11, which seems uncharacteristically low for a 7-11 tier. Would I be within my rights to give her a 'Take 20' DC of 21, as perhaps she has been preparing lies to tell anyone that comes to bother her?
