When we pay for a remove curse/break enchantment/greater dispel using prestige, it only covers one casting right? Then they have to make a caster level check to see if it is gotten rid of right? Just like paying gold for spell casting services. I suspect those npc spell casters need to do a caster level check. Or does the use of prestige ensure your faction keeps trying until they succeed(without having to pay prestige over and over).
I have a case of wanting to remove a cursed item. I think I may prefer to spend gold over and over to get rid of it. But if prestige auto succeeds, then that would be one good use of prestige.
Is there any way to buy such spell casting at a higher level than the minimum level to cast the spell in question? Having to buy scrolls at minimum caster level leads me to think no. I don't like the idea of rolling a poor% chance per casting. I would much rather pay extra for a high level caster and be sure to get rid of it or at least have a much better chance.

Sad, only now did I see my cursed item actually says that after it bestows the status, it can be removed without effort. That is want I really wanted. The item slot back to equipt with something good. Or for my eidolon's slot that I have to share to put on something good. The status itself does not bother me all that much. I even came up with some story for it that I think. Is funny.
Anyway, I did not find info here on getting rid of cursed items, so hopefully, this thread may still prove useful to others in the future.

Yup, it comes off after it does it's thing and you'd need a remove curse to undo it.
The image of this happening to Ezren in the APG is one of my favorite peices of art.
For *most* cursed items you need a remove curse spell in order to remove them. Some of them can be very rough if you don't get that spell ASAP.

I had the good fortune to play with a ligh level cleric today. He knocked out the curse. I failed to think of buying him a drink as thanks but we are at the same con so I will do so Saturday. In this case, the guide said I should list the removal in the conditions gained box, list the casting players society # and have the gm sign off.
