Yep I am starting a project to make some epic underdark terrain. I haven't quite decided on a final color scheme yet. Here is a sneak peek at the project..

I think the color is good. I prefer a rich brown over gray for my stone stuff.
As for the brightness, I'd take a look at it across the table. Can you easily see the grid, so you can count squares from across the room and not have to move closer? If so, your overall color level is fine. You have a nice medium brown and the recesses look almost black, so the grid is identifiable, I wouldn't go darker.
Another reason NOT to go darker is for photographs--if all the terrain is dark, it's hard to see detail in photos and the minis end up being the only bright spots in a field of dark background. Whether you want to use them as dioramas, or post photos from your game, being able to see all the work you put into the terrain means you should err on the side of light. Especially as I'm guessing most of your games occur at night under artificial light, so you're not getting the sunlight (or rainlight, as in that video) which tends to brighten up everything even if it's not direct light.
