Divine Bond Choices

Rules Questions

While reading over Divine Bond I noticed it states "This mount is usually a heavy horse (for a Medium paladin) or a pony (for a Small paladin), although more exotic mounts, such as a boar, camel, or dog are also suitable."

My questions are as follows:

1. Which creatures are usable?

2. Would my assumption that the chosen creature has to be of appropriate size to ride when it is first acquired be correct or could you take a creature that will eventually become an appropriate size for you to ride?

1. Ask your DM, they will determine based on character concept/campaign.

2. Appropriate size seems most likely.

Liberty's Edge

1. Whichever your GM says are usable, but (from that list) it's probably intended to be whatever mount is typical for your culture.

2. I think it needs to be ridable when you get it, though if I were the GM I'd probably allow you to actively put off getting the mount at all until Level 7 if you wanted (thus allowing more mounts). Assuming the mount in question fit in with point #1, anyway.

Thank you two for you time. I actually wrote this quite poorly. I was looking into it for Pathfinder Society and found the answer I was looking for. Though I find it rather weird that Society requires it be ride-able from level one when the paladin ability actually suggests mounts that only become appropriate mounts at level 4 (Before a paladin even gets his mount).
