Liberty's Edge

Hey all, looking for some opinions here.

I'm going to be building an NPC Dwarven Fighter that is a barkeep of a tavern. LN. He knows he runs a rowdy place, but as long as 'peace' is kept he's happy and at times, more often than not, he steps in to stop disturbances and remove people from the premises.

My question is should I go with a Fighter (Brawler Archetype) or Fighter (Unarmed Fighter Archetype)?

Grand Lodge

Unarmed fighter, with Earth style or Dragon style. The DR against nonlethal, and damage while grappled is fitting.

Liberty's Edge

That's what I was thinking, well the DR and damge while grappling. Haven't really looked at the styles yet, never played a monk before. :(

Grand Lodge

Actually, some of the most powerful builds utilizing style feats are not monks.

Liberty's Edge

interesting.

Grand Lodge

Consider giving him an armored kilt, and a pair of blade boots. Always armed and ready, without anyone the wiser, and not getting in the way of work. Giving him the rough and ready trait will do more for him then the catch off guard feat. Focus on dealing nonlethal damage.

Liberty's Edge

k. I was thinking of doing an Apron of Resistance (for the Cloak of Resistance), girdle of Physical Might (Belt of Physical Might), and other things with such flavor. He'll pretty much look like he's wearing no armor which is fitting with the simple tavern owner/barkeep appearance.

But if the PC's decide to get rowdy then they'll find him not an easy pushover.

It is a high level campaign, PC's are all lvl 11.
