Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So the wife and I've gotten into a show where a kid gets stuck being the devil's bounty hunter at the same time I'm hunting for a mid-level campaign to follow up a low-level arc where the party foils an Asmodean plot. Tell me what you folks think and offer any/all comments you'd like:

The low level plot ultimately involves an Asmodean priest sacrificing slaves to the pit (against their will). The priest however is skimming soul energies off the top and storing this energy in obsidian vesels; he intends to use these energies to trigger a pyroclastic blast to destroy the party's home city.

At the 0 hour the party stops the evil priest but a minor explosion still occurs, shattering the gems and flinging the energies far and wide, releasing the damned sacrifices. However, we all know that matter and energy are never FULLY destroyed right?

The midlevel arc begins with a nightmare displaying a tormented soul in the pit and focuses on some unique feature that person had in life; a scar, a lisp, etc. When they awaken the party finds this feature coincidentally on a total stranger completely unrelated to the person in their dream. Then they get a visit from Asmodeus, or one of his agents and he's REALLY peeved.

Turns out the soul gems are still out there and acting like pinholes between here and perdition. Devils follow strict law and won't use the gates, but evil souls are escaping their eternal torment and making their way here to the mortal realm. He wants the party to hunt down and destroy mortals harboring these refugees and return the soul gems to him. Should the party agree he will provide unique items to help the party, plus pop into their lives from time to time to offer advice and temptations.

Of course, the Devil's getting the sweet end of the bargain. Y'see, the evil souls posess the pure and innocent; holy priests, nurses, animal caretakers, etc. And if the party doesn't watch their step THEY become damned as well.

Well, what d'you all think?

The Exchange

Neat concept. I would rather read it than play it though. Sounds like you would need to be a more investigative style of player than I am.
