The 'Sorcerer' Magus

Homebrew and House Rules

I am looking at creating a 'sorcerer' archetype for the Magus. So that they use sorcery instead of wizardry magic.

How would you go about converting the Spells per Day / Spells Known tables?

I was looking for an easy mathematical switch but I don't see the patern Pathfinder chose to convert the Magus Spells per Day table from a wizard.

In the 3rd party product by super genius games New Magus Arcana they have the Cabalist Archetype for the magus which uses a bard's progression for spells per day and spells known and spontaneous casting.

Well that works... sure saves allot of tweating lol

I don't like that it takes so long to get the Bloodline Powers but that can always be negotiated for another class feature.

Thanks!

I created a Cha-based spontaneous-casting magus archetype called the bloodborn magus. It is listed within this document. Perhaps you will find it to your liking.

You could also simply try the Vanguard.

An EXCELLENT idea! :)

The Vanguard is a spontaneous casting arcane/fighter hybrid class that is in many ways akin to the Magus (even though the Vanguard was released a number of months before the Magus)

Speaking of the Vanguard, Super Genius Games will be releasing an updated version of the class with some cool new goodies soon - be sure to watch for it!
