How did they do this?

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

I was playing a Pathfinder Society Organized Play game at a convention last november called Carnage on the Mountain.

We were playing i think the 9-10 tier of the "Hall of drunken heroes"

The character i was running was a 8th level inquisitor.

there were three other players at the table....I think.....this was the midnight maddness slot on friday night....i think.....

ok.....the other players at the table i think had build their characters using Team work feats.

One of the players was a fighter type, and the other a rogue type.

While flanking an enemy the thief oops rogue would attack. He referred to something called a butter fly critical...or something like that. I think he gave up his sneak attack damage.

his flanking buddy the fighter type then attacked with a tetsubo....the spiked club....and what ever the rogue type did, it caused the fighter type to have a confirmed critical hit.

With a Tetsubo, and it's 4x critical was devestating.

How did they do this? what feats? etc. thanks.

Liberty's Edge

Butterfly's Sting

This is the feat. From Faiths of Purity

I just want to confirm before my GM comes at me with a battleaxe, but does this mean the player I pass the critical to "automatically" gets a critical IF he makes a successful attack before my next turn?

OR

Does this mean he critically CONFIRMS next time he makes a critical hit?

This is probably "any" ally who hits next, not one I can specify - damn.

What if I hold my action, does that still count as my turn?

Would my rogue lose Sneak Attack to do this or is that "normal" damage?

Quote:

You can forgo a critical hit in order to pass it on to an ally.

Prerequisite: Combat Expertise.

Benefit: When you confirm a critical hit against a creature, you can choose to forgo the effect of the critical hit and grant a critical hit to the next ally who hits the creature with a melee attack before the start of your next turn. Your attack only deals normal damage, and the next ally automatically confirms the hit as a critical.

Liberty's Edge

The one with this feat confirms a crit, forgoes the critical damage, and instead lets the next ally to hit auto-confirm a crit. It is a very powerful feat that is attained at a very low level. Finess fighter with a keen weapon paired with a two-handed high crit multiplier fighter would be a devastating combo.

*wanders off to run this feat by his GM*

My gnome ninja with a keen wakizashi...

Hmmm... I wonder if this feat is legal for PFS... This could really be a cool feat for one of those characters that really lets the other characters shine! Maybe incorporate it with a bard archetype that can also buff the party... I'm gonna look this up on the "additional ressources list" for PFS and I'm gonna check out arcane duelist I think! :)

Silver Crusade

Thank you....now i can take a look at butterfly sting myself.

I dont know if the feat is PFS legal but i can look it up on the additional resources page

Thanks
