I'm putting together a bloatmage blaster build (teehee) for PFS should one of my characters unceremoniously bite it, and I want to know how bloatmage initiate would stack with spell specialization. I was planning on making my first two feats bloatmage initiate and spell specialization (ear-piercing scream/burning hands); if the two feats stack I'm looking at either 2d6 sonic or 4d4 flames in a cone at level one.
With the two of them, would I be casting evocation spells at caster level 2 and my specialized spell at caster level 4?

Firstly, I think you'd have to have the Spell Focus feat for this to work (you may hav eomitted that, but just sayin').
I'm not sure if the two would stack together, but I *think* that they do. I can't see a defined bonus type that would prohibit the stacking. I know you can stack other feats that add to the same area: skill focus & other skill related feats.

They would stack but why bloatmage initiate rather than varisian tatoo?
I personally prefer shocking grasp to burning hands at level 1 as with a high damage roll you will 1 shot party members (meaning you have to worry about the no pvp rule), You can end up with CL5 at level 1 if you want with 1 spell and CL2 with 1 school

Bloatmage initiate because he's an aspiring bloatmage. I don't think I'll end up taking shocking grasp because with an 8 strength and a toad familiar, he's not going to have a lot of options as far as delivering it goes. I'll post the build a little bit later if you like: it was originally going to be a transmuter with a lot of magic missiling, but I've decided an admixturing bloatmage would be pretty cool.
