There's a magic weapon enhancement in the APG called "dueling", which can only be applied to Finessable weapons and has a laundry list of effects and adds 14k gold to the price of the item.

Meanwhile, the Pathfinder Society Field Guide also has a magic weapon enhancement called "dueling", which applies to any melee weapon, gives you a bonus to a few combat maneuvers, and is priced as a +1 bonus equivalent.

Is one supposed to be superceding the other? Or is this just a case of two things which just happen to have the same name?

Shadow Lodge

I believe I saw somewhere that a developer/editor didn't catch the name. They're both usable, one does not supersede the other. Just one of the many "oopsies" that slip through the cracks.

Sovereign Court

I'm not sure what sounds silliest, a "+1 Dueling Dueling rapier", a "+1 double-Dueling rapier," or a "+1 dual-Dueling rapier."

I think a "+1 Dueling Greatclub" sounds the silliest.

Thanks all. Pretty much what I figured, but thought I'd check.

I'm envisioning the following dialogue in the near future with my disarm/trip specialist fighter in PFS:

Player: How'd you get your bonus to disarms so high?

Me: I've got X, Y, Z and a +1 dueling flail.

Player: Uh, dueling is for Finessable weapons only.

Me: No, I mean the other "dueling".

It's a game of honor and diplomacy.
