wolf pheromone

Advice

Im currently listening to a podcast of a group playing through the kingmaker series... in it the adventurers are exploring an area known to be inhabited by a fey creature (pixie possibly) when all of a sudden the barbarian starts to smell like wolf pheromones and low and behold they are attacked by werewolves... is there a spell that can give someone a scent like that or is this just DM fluff?

Anyone?

Was the barbarian a PC?

If so, did the barbarian PC start to smell like wolf pheromones?
OR, did the (using my valley-girl voice) the barbarian PC start to smell, like, you know, wolf pheromones?

If the barbarian smells like a wolf lets just hope that the werewolves are actually attacking...

It would be a reasonable use of the curse spell, Prestidigitation can flavor things, it might be able to scent them. Most likely its just a Special Fey ability/plot device.

The barbarian was a pc, and he didn't notice the change, other pc's noticed it first and then after a successful knowledge nature check they were able to figure out that it smelled like wolf pheromones

And im sure the werewolves were drawn to the spot by their senses promising something but were quickly angered when they found out they were wrong. And angered enough into attacking. Though I don't see why they didn't assume the barbarian and crew were werewolves as well.

There is a non-magical item in pathfinder called Beast scent, that could do the trick. A magic version is also possible, most likely it is just the local fey being trolls.

That's what im thinking but I know prestidigitation con be used to flavor things, can it be used to make things smell like something else too?

Maybe he was a furry, or a worshiper of Lamashtu. There is a magic item that lets you smell fertile creatures, and interbreed with animals that are within one size category of your size. You need to worship Lamashtu to get the full effect though.

The barbarian? No it was clear that he all of a sudden started to smell like that and not by his choice

Grand Lodge

Oh, glamer spells will do that.

No glamour is a personal spell, you can't cast it on someone else, and the barbarian didn't choose to smell like that

Grand Lodge

I mean glamer spells, not a spell named "glamour".

And I just got the mental image of a burly barbarian in glamour photo ops with less than male posings...

Grand Lodge

Now imagine the wolf in the shadows, saying to himself in his german accent "Yah, thot's hot..".
