Witch's hexes questions

Rules Questions

1. Does witch know was her hex successful or saved? I mean if DM should make save roll secretely or not
2. If witch use hex with 1-round duration (misfortune for example), and use Cackle at the same round, will hex be extended?
3. Can witch extend hex (using Cackle) for any time (supposed that target stays inside 30ft radius)?

1. You should pose this question for every character and avery effect. Is the same for a spell, a poison, etc? GM discrection. Usually players know if they character's ability functions or not.
2. Yes.
3. Yes. Just use common sense if there's a problem.

1. It's from the Magic Overview rules, but I see no reason why it would not likewise apply for hexes:

"Succeeding on a Saving Throw

A creature that successfully saves against a spell that has no obvious physical effects feels a hostile force or a tingle, but cannot deduce the exact nature of the attack. Likewise, if a creature's saving throw succeeds against a targeted spell, you sense that the spell has failed. You do not sense when creatures succeed on saves against effect and area spells."

2 & 3: Yes.

More Hex Questions

"Unless otherwise noted, using a hex is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. The save to resist a hex is equal to 10 + 1/2 the witch’s level + the witch’s Intelligence modifier."

When it says "the witch's level" is it referring to class level or character level?

If it was class level would taking a prestige class that added +1 caster level count as witch levels for the purposes of hexes (probably not) in raw?

thats class level. witch4/barbarian8 has a save dc of 12 + Int-mod.

Class abilities always refer to levels in that class unless it specifically spells out "character level".. which is very very rare.
