NPC Summoners and XP

If the players defeat an enemy which summoned creatures during combat, do they get the XP for said creature(s) as well?

No. The summoned creatures are considered part of the summoner for XP. They are, in effect, his weapon.

Anything that's brought forth as a class feature does not generate more xp.
