Okay, this has got me ridiculously confused, and I couldn't find an answer elsewhere, so maybe someone can help.
What year does Jade Regent take place in? (Or at least what year does it begin in? I know, I know, Hungry Storm can last months or years)
I've tried to figure this out myself, but the numbers I've found are EXTREMELY contradictory, and only confusing me even more. The most problematic two points for me are as follows:
According to Brinewall Legacy Ameiko's Grandfather dies in 4687
According to Brinewall legacy, the Five Storms escape from the forest of spirits "Hundreds of years ago". Yet according to the Dragon Empires Gazetteer, this event happens in 7151, THOUSANDS of years after they've already killed Ameiko's grandfather, and considering that Ameiko is human, she should by this logic be long-dead by the time the Five Storms have even managed to get out of the house of withered blossoms
Am I misunderstanding something about how Golarion's calendar works? Did someone make a massive oversight when writing one of those lines in one of those books?
Most importantly of all, how can I make this work? I assume one of those numbers has to be changed, probably the destruction of Brinewall, but to what? Somebody help me out here...

You are mixing up two dating systems:
AR (Aroden Reckoning) = Inner Sea
The Imperial Calendar = Dragon Empires
Look on page 15 of your gazetteer:
The most commonly accepted calendar in the Dragon
Empires, and the one in the widest use by its people, is
the Imperial Calendar, established over 7,000 years ago by
the empire of Yixing. This calendar is based on the year
this first empire was founded, and corresponds to year
–2500 in Absalom Reckoning). To convert a date from the
Imperial Calendar to Absalom Reckoning, simply subtract
2,500 from the year—thus, the current date in the Imperial
Calendar, 7211 ic, corresponds to the year 4711 ar.
So, the Five Storms escaped in 4651ar, 36 years before Ameiko's grnadfather was killed.
Ah, that explains a lot. I must have missed that line.
