Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Liberty's Edge

After seeing Sean K. Reynolds' recent facebook update where he showed his most commonly referenced books (Sean K Reynolds | Facebook) I was surprised that he marked each of them on their bottoms!

And then I remembered that I hadn't marked ANY of my Pathfinder RPG books.

I used to write my name in the inside cover of each of my RPG books with a black marker.

I never, however, used a highlighter or such inside the book.

Do you guys mark your books and / or highlight them?

Scarab Sages Reaper Miniatures

I mark my name on the pages much how Sean does. The Reaper factory is adjacent to a game store, and I want to be sure I'm a) getting the books I own and b) not getting books I do not own.

It saves confusion, and assures customers when we game in the retail area that we're not using unpaid for product.

I do not actually highlight, underline, or otherwise mark the interior text and never have.

In the past, I would write my name inside the inside cover, but working where I do I find it important to have an obvious visual marker that I am not thieving.

Years ago (decades, even) I got a duplicate of a U.S.A.F.I.A. "passed by censor" stamp, with a line for initials. I stamp the inside cover of all my books and initial them in red if feasible, or black or pencil if red is not feasible (for example if the inner cover is black or red).

I never mark any books up other than that, with the exception of technical books I bring to work; on those I write my name on the bottom (while closed) with a sharpie.

Edit: I GM too many games, especially at cons, not to have my names in my books.
