Multiclass and Caster Level

Rules Questions

I know that Caster Level =/= as Character Level. For example, a Fighter 2 / Wizard 4 has Caster Level 4, not 6.

But, let's suppose my character is a Druid 5 / Wizard 2. For casting spells, I know I have to use each Caster Level individualy (5 for Druid Spells and 2 for Wizard Spells).

But what about meeting prerrequisites for Feats or crafting magical items? If you have two or more Spellcasting classes, do you use the higher spellcasting class you have or you add them all togheter?

Thanks a lot in advance.

You have to use the higher one.

The good thing is that its pretty rare for your caster level to be involved directly in the item creation process.

Thanks!

While it's true and Caster Level is rarely involved in item creation, you do need to meet certain Class Level requirements to purchase the Item Creation Feats in the first place.

At least ye know a lot of cantrips, matey. Arr.

To be more precise the higher Eligible one. So if you have a feat that required you to have a arcane caster level of 5, the character above would not pass muster for it.

Actually I thought I read somewhere that caster levels get added together from different classes that grant CL.

Can't find it right now though

Nope.

A spell's power often depends on its caster level, which for most spellcasting characters is equal to her class level in the class she's using to cast the spell.

Maybe you are remembering a house rule or Trailblazer or something?
