Non Spell Strike / Spell combat 2h Weapons + Spellcasting?

Rules Questions

Alright, so all of my search-fu for the concept of 2h weapon and spellcasting results concerning the magus. General consensus (among most of the board, with some naysayers, I see), is that you can release and re-grip your 2h weapon before & after casting a spell with a somatic component as a free action. Just wanna know if I'm missing something when this applies to Sorcerers.

Got a character concept in mind. Half-orc Elemental (fire) sorcerer from Tien Xia, worshiper of Yamatsumi (while also venerating Lady Nanbyo when natural disasters result in lots of fire), wielding a Tetsubo. Fire off a few fire spells (usually to catch something on fire, these spells he will be specializing in), and still be ready to bash in a few skulls should the need arise.

I realize the whole thing hinges upon GM-OK, but I'd like all that I could use to convince any potentially undecided GMs.

Should be fine. For a sorcerer, the wielding of a weapon is not part of a class feature, and as a result you only need to take into consideration the game's general rules. In fact, many would recommend a sorcerer use a two-handed weapon, if possible, because of this.
