I read all the post about Hedge Magician, and I still confused.
Hedge Magician
You apprenticed for a time to a craftsman who often built magic items, and he taught you many handy shortcuts and cost-saving techniques.
Benefit: Whenever you craft a magic item, you reduce the cost of gp required to make the item by 5%.
I dm on a chat setting, our dm team has different opinions about this trait, which we can't decide who is right.
DM A: I'm looking at the trait hedge magician, 5% off cost of crafting magic items. I see that as meaning for an item costing 1000 to make, the discount will be 50. regardless of whether it costs 2000 to buy.
DM B: I read it as you get an additional 5% to crafting costs, so instead of crafting the normal 50% for crafting materials, you would only pay 45% of the crafting materials instead. So if someone wanted bracers of armor +1 = 1000 gp. Normally it would cost 500 gp. With Hedge Mage I believe it means that you instead only pay 450gp instead of the 500gp.
Can you confirm for us is DM A or DM B is right, please. <this is what I have typed to send them, any changes or other options. I see that it can both depending who reads it or not.
