Large Party for Kingmaker

Kingmaker

Going into Kingmaker in a week or so right now the party is rather large:

Rogue (Trapsmith)
Witch (Hedge Witch)
Barbarian (Titan Mauler)
Cavalier (Emissary)
Rogue (Knife Master)
Cleric
Bard

I only have one real question here, how likely is it that we are going to survive through even the first book, our GM is of course increasing the fights to match the larger party (using the 6 player guide in this forum as a starting point).

It's quite reasonable actually. We have about the same number, granted we've started toting some npcs our characters bonded with along for book 2 but book 1 should be fine at least as far as story battles go. Be careful with the random encounter table as it can throw some scary stuff at you. One the other hand we still tell tales of how we routed a small troll warband on our way to slay the Stag Lord.

Awesome I was feeling a bit apprehensive as only 3 of the seven of us have played 3.5 D&D and none of us have played Pathfinder.

The gaming experience of almost all of the party is made up of World of Darkness games.

The three that have played 3.5 have a wealth of experience going as far back as AD&D.

Now I will say that we roll for stats and can select any array we wish so we do tend to be higher on the power curve than most, but that's also compensated on our GMs part. A recommendation I would give is to try to figure out, especially for those of you who haven't played D&D much or at all, is to take some time and figure how to best synergize. It'll give you backup so you're not in the middle of the enemies alone and teamwork goes a long way in overcoming encounters. May also be good to ask to go a bit slow at the start so everyone can be up to speed on pathfinder. There are several things that were taken for granted in 3.5 that are no longer applicable so it's good to ease in a bit at first just to acclimate to it.
