Help with Fighter (Lore Warden) / Gunslinger (Pistoler) build

Advice

Hey all,

I really like the Lore Warden (Fighter) archetype and I'm planning on going that route starting with a high dex (17) and good con and int (14s). Picking up weapon finesse, focus, specialization feats w/Rapier (follower of Cayden Cailean). I was also planning on picking up Imp Trip and Imp Dirty Tricks feats.

I'm trying to see if I can multi-class with Gunslinger (pistoler type) and come up with a decent build.

I am considering a Human Lore Warden 9 / Gunslinger 3, so that I can get weapon training 2 for pistols at Lore Warden (Fighter) 9. Is 3 levels of Gunslinger too few?

Character for Pathfinder Society Organized Play (max lv 12)

Are there any considerations that I should look into for a build such as this? Or maybe different levels between the two classes such as Fighter:Lore Warden 7 / Gunslinger:Pistoler 5?

thanks

I'm a fan of the Lore Warden too. I haven't played it yet, but I've been considering LW with some levels of Ranger.

If you're going to multiclass, interesting abilities for the gunslinger are 1, 3, 7, and 11. I'd say you have the right idea at the bottom, LW 7 Gunslinger 5. I'd consider stopping LW at level 7, that seems like a sweet spot. You get the knowledge skills for combat bonuses when you identify enemies, and the combat maneuver bonus increases to +4.

Gunslinger, I think the base class and the pistolero both get to add Dex bonus to damage at level 5, so that's a great fit.

Of course you'll only get these best abilities from both classes when you hit level 12, but I think you could build a progression that gets an interesting ability every level or two. If you like Improved Trip, definitely check out Greater Trip, and the LW bonus to maneuvers should really help your success rate. Also combat reflexes could be important. Quick draw would be nice, but regardless I'd consider a buckler on your pistol hand, so when you move into melee you can block with that hand while slicing with the rapier in the other. Last point, if you use a "trip" weapon, you can add enhancement bonuses from the weapon to the trip attempt.

I like the mix of Lore Warden with Gunslinger. It's got a nice feel to it. Good luck! :)

If you like to have more weapon training from your figther ability try looking on Gloves of Dueling, it increases your weapon training bonus by +2.

Just remember to get some wisdom so you can use grit abilities. you'll always have one grit but i would consider 2 so you can use an ability and still maintain one grit for those that just requires you to have one unspent.

Also if you have the feats for it I would consider Dervish Dancer, from Inner Sea World guide, it makes you able to use dex to hit and dmg rolls with a Scimitar.
