4e Character generation suck eggs!
And I have proof. We spent the entire evening creating characters using custom generation tables and we generated a Merchant who is essentially a geisha. He has a halfling slave with a colorful past. And the geisha also has a colorful past.
And we spent a significant part of the Evening generating his ratkin character, and most of it was spent on his father's history as a soldier (and it was a part time job! A fisherman that become a soldier). He started as a private who was promoted to lieutentant, then to Special Forces as the Ranger, and then a knight, and then became king of a human kingdom! And that is not including his character's childhood, adolescence, and adulthood events where his ratkin character is a STRAIGHT played Homosexual!
And all they do is select a measley background. I feel sorry for them. Truely, I am. My player just put them all TO SHAME tonight! Shame on them. Shame, shame, shame.
I'm sending a copy of this pathfinder character to Bruce R. Cordell and I'm going to tell him -- I would like to see options for characters generated in 5e like this.

You know, we can't figure out what forum this thread is supposed to go in. But the digs against 4th edition are super fighty and we don't need that kind of thing on our site. Maybe try again without that, and maybe put it in the right forum and possibly explain what it is that you're actually wanting to discuss?
