Poison Question.

Rules Questions

So I've been through the rules in the Core Book a few times, and have checked out the blog post regarding poison and neither seemed to answer my question. Could be that I'm just too tired to be doing this right now.

What happens to the damage that's already been done when the player makes his save or when he/she fails to save and the duration just runs out? I understand that poison continues to do damage throughout the duration and stops adding MORE damage at that point, but what happens to the damage that's already been done?

My assumption is that it stays until healed, naturally or magically. The phrase "Fortunately, just one successful save cures the character of all three doses of the poison." makes me question that. A poison that's in and out of your system in <1 minute just feels a little off to me though.

Since poison is pretty serious business and I'm thinking about throwing some d4 con poison at an APL4 group, I want to make sure I'm not screwing them too hard.

Curing the poison does not heal the wound. They get to heal over time or go find someone with a restoration spell. D4 con injury poison could be very very scary to a low or medium level group without a good healer.

Thanks, I think I may consider editing the creature a bit since its already a unique variant on the standard. Reducing or changing the poison in favor of another less-crippling ability might be a better bet, for the sake of fun.
