I am off to start an argument about 'Soda At The Gaming Table'

Baking or Drinking? (Club soda? does that do 1d4 as a small club soda?)

Scarab Sages

Nosig will threadjack it and ask if he can T10 on drinking the soda.

Nosig, I say that in jest.

LOL! yeah, I get that a lot when I play too. But if it's baking soda, then it's likely used in the PCs day job roll, and he couldn't T10 on a Day Job roll. (also in jest)

I have bought two ice cold sodas. Once Judge says I cannot give one
of them to another player before the mod starts to drink after play
starts.

I don't think that is right.

Where do I go to get a ruling on this?

You came to the table with two ice cold sodas... and didn't give one to the Judge? Wow... you are a brave man.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Bunny prefers her libations in the form of coffee (with extra sugar for the Gnome) and lots of milky creamy goodness (for the cat) Starbucks is preferable and anything caramel flavored is certain to reduce the catbunygnome to a pile of "I don't care what you do I'm having an epiphany with my coffee" kinda GM

I'll definitely have to remember that should I ever get the chance to play with you... :)

Should you find yourself fortunate enough be playing at a bunny table, it is an experience you will never forget.

Yeah, had the chance last year at MarmaladeDog, but wife and friends had nothing to do while I gamed (weren't interested in PFS at the time) so I only got to play Doug's 4star special.

do you have next weekend free? There's Winterwar in IL -- not sure how far of a drive that is for you though.

Or if you need more time to plan .. Gamicon 2 weeks later... we're only a 6 hours drive

I'm from the middle of the mitten, and no, no free weekend. :/

EDIT: And since I just sent my van in for a new head gasket... Not really able to splurge on unexpected trips... ;) Only reason I'm going to MDog this year is I have a couple of friends that live in Kzoo and my wife and I can stay there for the weekend.

Tell me about it!

Ok, can we please get official PFS Faction based versions of these fez's??? http://www.fez-o-rama.com/ If not, and I were to get one made myself, would GMs give me a re-roll for wearing it? (Non-stacking with the t-shirts, of course.)

Scarab Sages

That is quite the specific request.

I don't actually expect any action on it. I stumbled across these fezzes when searching for something else and I hate to say it, but my first reaction was to make PFS Faction logo ones. :-) At least unlike a t-shirt, it won't stink (as much) after four days of continuous wearing at GenCon.

If you were sitting at my table with a fez that had a faction logo ... I would smile, I would think it's cute and would certainly give a shout-out for the ingenuity behind going to such great lengths. But I would not be able to give a free reroll, the only items scanctioned for the rerolls are the shirts. Without one of those no free reroll at my table. .sorry.

I'm not sure if it's "legal", but I played with one guy who had a "shot-glass re-roll"... anyone know this rule?

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/55/5 ***

I had two different players this past weekend tell me that prior GM's had permitted them with a re-roll based on their Paizo PFS shot glass. To my knowledge, there is no rule that incorporates the shot glass into the re-roll program. It is strictly for the shirts listed in the official rules.

I hope GM's are a bit more careful how they allow the re-roll. Allowing it under other circumstances than what is described in the rules does a disservice to the players. They become mis-informed and puts future GM's on the spot increasing the chances of a GM to be considered a "jerk" for not allow what previous GM/s did. We need to remember that the rules are the rules and be careful balancing that with player fun.

Players AND GM's have responsibility in this process. GM's need to be reasonable in their application of the rule and not be rude, confrontational, nor allow it regardless of circumstances.

Players need wear their shirt so a GM does not have to adjudicate the nuances of how the rule can be interpreted.

It is ridiculous for this to be such a big issue and require more than 100 posts. The bottom line is be respectful to your fellow players AND the rules.

There is no officially sanctioned shot glass reroll.

Not even if it's full before the re-roll and empty after?

Your reasons are your own. I am sure it was still quality use of the glass even though you couldn't reroll a dice one time

Or how about a game store charging $5.37 for two 20oz sodas? I'm looking at you Fantasy Flight Event Center!

After a few shots, that "1" will look a lot like an "11". See, it works!!

You mean you've been sneaking in shots during our games and didn't share?!?!?!?!

I second the vote for the fez. I might be able to find one of those that fits my head.

Scarab Sages

Lord knows I can't get an Osirion shirt that fits me. ... I'll vote for PFS-Legal hats of any kind. Fez, or otherwise.

I think if there is a size issue with the shirts, judges are more than likely going to be flexible. The issue with not having it out -- in a bag etc, and then giving it to another player when the roll badly is what the main issue has been and (unless I'm reading wrong) is where people have said no.

I know I'm not going to ask the 3XL guy to try and squeeze into a M shirt... that would be wrong and embarrassing. But asking you to have it out to be see -- wear it as a cap or even a hat/turban showing the logo and I'd be happy and feel that the requirements for using the re-roll have been met.
