Absalom, Foreign Quarter district map?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Is there a module or PFS scenario that has a map of the Foreign Quarter? I've found a module (Seeker of Secrets) that has a great Pathfinder Lodge map, but I've been unable to find a published map for the Foreign Quarter.

Is there a map reference wiki page or thread that lists which non-encounter, reusable detailed maps (such as cities, districts, important places, etc.) are in which modules?

thanks

The closest the PathfinderWiki comes to this is our Art index. Perhaps that may be of some use.

As for a map of the Foreign Quarter of Absalom, the only map that I am aware of was published in Guide to Absalom, and then republished (with colors marking the districts) in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide.

Thanks. I have that, but was looking for something a bit more detailed. I found a really nice map for the Ivy District in U1- Gallery of Evil. I was hoping the other districts had been mapped out like that.

Don't some of the PFS modules have some detailed Absalom maps?

A good, solid, detailed map of Absalom is something I'd love to do some day.

This is significantly complicated by the fact that there's over 300,000 people in Absalom. A map the detail of, say, what we did for Korvosa would have to be several times the size of that city's poster map, since Korvosa had only about 17,000 people living in it. The fact that Absalom's so big actually works against us ever being able to really detail the city out to the extent and in the cartographic style that gamers have come to expect, which makes it really tricky.

Still... I'd like to take care of it some day. And it'll certainly involve some level of revision (in some cases, TOTAL revision) of existing maps of Absalom and its districts.

maybe for an urban adventure path perhaps?, now that would be fun. absalom is a great city that would be fun for an ap.

If you ever need help with that, I'm in! :)

You know an AP set in Absalom means you could split Absalom into 6 maps, and release it as massive beautiful poster maps at the end of the path...

Actually... the very original plan for Absalom was something like this. We would do a new module set in the city every few months, and each module would present a new district, and by the end, after 10 or whatever modules, we'd just be able to put the whole city map together like a puzzle.

In practice, though... that was an absolutely terrible idea. Having different authors with different mapping skillsets map the same location? Only the first in a number of reasons why it was a terrible idea. :-P

Nah, the map needs to be re-designed all at once. And in a way that lets us fit the whole map on a single page—which pretty much ensures you won't be able to see individual buildings on the map, which is going to freak a lot of people out...

Just make it the same size as the Inner Sea Poster Map :)

my idea i had last night as i was drifting off to sleep: do a re-disigned poster map the size of inner sea map folio, include all the major stuff from already released material, then let the writer's go to town on it. you could then release the ap map folio to correspond with beginning of ap instead of the end (with just absalom with places from the guide to absalom marked but not ap places). you could even put out a player's companion out for it too. i understand logistics and monthly dead-lines make it an incredibly difficult task at best but it would be blast to see what richard pett, brandon hodges, greg vaughn or jason nelson could do with the puddles or precipice quarter:).
just an idea.

Yeah, I'd really love just district level maps, like the Ivy District one in Gallery of Evil. There's a very detailed (roads, buildings) map of the city level in the Absalom Guide book, but I wanted something that showed the differences in the districts (the green parks of Ivy vs seedy dock area, etc.)

I would also love it for the Absalom Guide book to get updated to include any buildings spoke about in the various Absalom adventures and the guide. Even just a list of all of the various buildings/shops/theaters copied/pasted from the adventures into one big list in an updated Absalom Guide would be great.

I'm honestly not sure even a map that big would be big enough for us to see each and every building in Absalom.

It's something I'm going to look into more in the future, but I want to get it all as correct as possible this time. Which is gonna take time.

Since this thread hasn't been updated lately... Is this project still in the works? Like a few have mentioned already, even just small maps of the individual districts (like the one for the Ivy District) would be AWESOME. I have a group planning a heist from the pathfinder society HQ, and knowing the layout of the Foreign Quarter would make this so much more fun...
