Help me start a good Rumor...

Thanks... have about 4 more levels to plan things out. My DM would like an idea of what i have in mind so he can "plan for it"... I swore off the starting a war idea. I want alot of Fame and personal power... Like to get something like...

Diplomatic Immunity - a form of legal immunity and a policy held between the governments that ensures that diplomats (such as a Rockstar like myself) are given safe passage and are considered not susceptible to lawsuit or prosecution under the host country's laws.

Thats about where I would like to end up at the end of my power structure... know so many things about all the right people that they will all give me a Pass on the Crazy Rockstar stuff I do as long as I do not go to far...

My private combat power will come from my Mind Bender PRC where i get permanent Charmed and eventually permanent Dominated thralls. And of course my adoring fans who I have built myself up to be the end all be all of Music.

I agree the board has really opened up a world of possibilities with class feature. My only trouble is trying to reign in my tendencies to go for alot of power.

The last poster gave me something to think on, how I might someday have to back up the rumors... so looking to keep things a little more down to Golarion if I can.

There is that for example the best lies are always mostly true. For example if you want to lie about a merchant trading illegal drugs you start by finding a merchant who already smuggles various other goods and tack on the drugs part, nobody will ever prove otherwise because the smuggler wouldn't reveal his other illegal trading.

Or say there's a noble who is blackmailing another noble you start the rumor about it being because of indiscretions on the part of the second noble's wife and since the truth would be more damaging they don't call you on the rumor or they may embrace it to avoid the truth coming out. Hell if you have a high enough charisma you could both seduce the noble's wife and blackmail him for it too =P then again you might get stabbed in the face.

@gnomersy - I have the Charisma. We had to resort to using 3.0 Epic book for what Performances effect have above a 40 check. It turns out its treated the same as diplomacy for adjusting attitudes with slightly higher DC's. Unless PF or another 3rd party has something newer or more relevant???

It also got me thinking about how the modern day stock market is affected by rumors of shortages or overflows.... I could make a killing buying and selling by adjusting the investers with rumors.
