Aberrant sorcerer's bloodline arcana: Polymorph vs. Transmutation

Rules Questions

Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you cast a spell of the polymorph subschool, increase the duration of the spell by 50% (minimum 1 round). This bonus does not stack with the increase granted by the Extend Spell feat.

I thought this would be a useful combination with reduce or enlarge person, but those seem to be from the 'transmutation' school...I can't seem to find much info about 'polymorph.'

Question 1: Do bloodline arcana's kick in right from level 1?
Question 2: How many polymorph spells do sorcerers have at lower levels?
Question 3: What's the relation between polymorph and transmutation? They seem very much like the same thing.

Polymorph is a subschool of Transmutation.

Here, this list here should help you.. I didn't check to see if it was perfect and complete, but it seems pretty close to it. The end result is that there really aren't a lot of early choices, and they all basically do the same kind of stuff. It's a good arcana, but it's not amazing.

Oh, and yes, they kick in right at level 1.

Polymorph is a subschool of Transmutation. If you read the Magic section that so many people skip over on their way to the spell lists you'll find all your answers are there.
