Valeros a cleric fighter of Cayden?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Greetings everyone.

It is known that Valeros, the fighter iconic is an avid lover of the god Cayden for his views on life and freedom. Now what I'm curious with the background and personality he has would having Cayden cleric levels in addition to his fighter levels be in or out of character for him?

This worry mainly stems down to the fact that clerics are a rare class for Cayden due to them being too focused, and can often pass up enjoyment of this life in favor of the next as noted in faiths of purity.

Well with a wisdom score of 8(IIRC) I doubt he'd make a good one, I think he's more a follower of the god for the alcohol and the wenching

I'm surprised Cayden isn't an overdeity or already kicking Asmodeus' burning arse. I mean, who DOESN'T love alcohol and wenching? :D

Shadow Lodge

I don't think that the number of followers determines a god's level of power.

If they had more followers, those followers would run around beating the followers of Asmodeus and Lamashtu and such. I think that equates to more followers making the deity stronger in a non-traditional way ;D

This actually makes some sort of sense to me, this may devolve into some sort of argument on how divinity works in Golarion. I say we nip this in the bud and summon a certain T-Rex to answer this for us now

If his herald is any indication, they already had this argument and he lost. :P

More seriously he doesn't need levels in Cleric to be a devout follower.

Or it could be the 'Wolverine' approach.

Cleric: Cayden represents freedom in its purist form.

Inquisitor: Cayden believes that freedom is the right of all sentient beings.* He empowers me to make sure they have that right.

Valeros: I like beer. :-)

Spoiler:
It does make me wonder what the church's position is on intelligent weapons.

I think they would let the intelligent weapon choose the kind of owner it wants, assuming the weapon isn't evil.

Yes that is very true :) I've wondered though what other classes would work with the iconics in addition to their normal ones. If cleric fails what other class could work for Valeros though?

I believe Kyra could be a fighter/cleric judging by her background, Erzen, Seoni and merisiel I'm not quite sure.

I really don't think the Iconics should Multiclass, they are the ICONIC representative of their primary classes, but I think Valeros has an ok Dex score so I can see him dipping into maybe rogue or ninja but other than his scores I got nothing on the other ones
