I'm going to link a post by James Jacobs in response to a request I placed in the campaign setting forum.
My request is for a map that clearly labels what modules/adventure paths take place where in regards to the Inner Sea Region. You can tell by Mr. Jacobs response that he believes this is the perfect role for a community use website to maintain. If there is anybody contributing to the d20pfsrd.com website that has the skill and mettle to accomplish this, I'd love to see it. I know I'd use the absolute heck out of it.

IANACartographer and can be of no help whatsoever in producing such a map.
I am curious about the format you have in mind, though. Take the Runelords adventure path, for example: its "location" is actually at least four widely separated locations, plus a couple more less widely separated and a couple of demiplanes. On your ideal map, how would this be indicated? Four separate markers? Or just one for Varisia?

methinks something similar to this: http://www.aidedd.org/battlemap/flash_ci.php?map=golarion
google gives a search result from a site from 2008 which mentions a takedown request from paizo on something that may be similar.

The interactive map is somewhat like what I'd like to see, but, in all likelihood, what I want would have to be much bigger and more detailed.
@Damon Griffin: In my mind the ideal map would have every location for any particular module/adventure path/scenario hotlinked. If it takes place all over the Inner Sea, so be it; link every place it deals with. That way if my PCs were going to a particular place in the Inner Sea region I could know which books have adventure type information for that area. Also, in my mind, the map would be not only a great GM tool but a handy advertising piece for the wonderful content Paizo has already put together. Knowing which books cover NPCs/Monsters/Dungeons/etc. from which places would make it more likely (for me anyway) that I'd purchase those books (or PDFs) that I need to help flesh out a running campaign.

While some of us on d20pfsrd may have the technical capability to accomplish something like this the reality is the amount of time required to accomplish it with a reasonable level of quality would take away from time spent posting content on the site, and a significant amount of time at that. So, it's unlikely we'll be able to get to that any time soon, sorry!

Well that thoroughly ruins my holidays. :( Perhaps someone else in the community could take up the mantle of this challenge.

So what's needed to make this happen? Is there a high enough quality inner sea map available for community use to overlay the data on, or would that need to be created as well? Once you have a map and some sort of "click point on map to add info" funtionality, you could allow the community to do the rest, wiki-style.

I'm not sure about the technical aspects because I'm just computer literate enough to do what I need to do on my laptop. Programming even simple html is well out of my realm of knowledge.
I do know that there's a fairly decent sized map of the Inner Sea available in the Community Use Packages section of the site. Transferring that to some other software with point and click functionality seems feasible. I'm not sure how the community lab part of d20pfsrd.com works, but if they'd be willing to host the map and let others develop, that would at least get the ball rolling.

We're more than happy to host this, assuming of course that whomever does whatever, complies with the Community Use Policy and the OGL. Remember that the Community Use Policy includes restrictions on altering images included in the Community Use Package.
So care would have to be taken when working with the maps.

Just want to point out that map is extremely low res and not really useable for anything other than flavor art (which I'm guessing was the intent). I would personally want a higher-resolution piece to work with. (I won't be able to, by the by, just chiming in.)
I think that it would be quite cool if there was a web page of the map with color-coded hot-spot dots that pop up with the full info on the area and what adventure(s) take place there.

Yeah that is a problem. Really at this stage it's nothing more than a pipedream since neither Paizo nor d20pfsrd.com have time or energy to entertain the idea. I'd still really love for some zealous and dedicated Pathfinder aficionado to take up the challenge. The problem with that is said aficionado would have to have been/be a subscriber to gamemastery modules, adventure paths, and pathfinder scenarios since inception. THEN, they have to have some nice programming or html knowledge. Anyone capable of casting a Wish spell?
