A couple of conjuration questions.....

Rules Questions

First, if I read the summon charts correctly, if I am a "good" alignment and I summon a creature (who is marked on the summon chart correctly) this create will have a Celestial template. Is that correct?

Second, specifically on the Lantern Archon, would SR applay tho their "beam of light" attacks? Because these are listed under the "Ranged" slot rather than the "spell like ability" or "special ability" I am unsure. Can anyone clarify?

Thanks!

First, they don't have to match your alignment. The alignment does change the descriptor of a spell though, so a good cleric may not be able to cast an evil spell.

second, your gut is right. They are laser beams of non-magical origins for all intents and purposes.

Just to clarify the first point, when I summon a creature (as a good mage) it will arrive with the celestial template (if it it makered on the summon chart as being eligible)

No, you summon whatever you want. Regardless of your alignment, you can choose to summon a Celestial Dog, a Fiendish Dire Rat, or whatever, so long as it's a valid creature summonable by the spell chosen. The only caveat is that if you are a Cleric, you cannot summon a creature opposite your alignment. That's all. Arcane casters have no such restriction.

But it doesn't happen automatically. You choose to summon a celestial wasp, so you summon a celestial wasp. You choose to summon a fiendish spider, so you summon a fiendish spider.
