Power levels of the various Runelords?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the answer on these boards anywhere. I was wonder what the rough ranking of the Runelords of Thasilon was, in descending order of power. I believe that Xanderghul was #1, Alaznist was #3, and Karzoug was #4, but how about the other four?

IIRC:
1) Xanderghul (Pride)
2) Sorchen (Lust)
3) Alaznist (Wrath)
4) Karzoug (Greed)
5) Zutha (Gluttony)
6) Belimarius (Envy)
7) Krune (Sloth)

I'm not 100% sure about the order of 5) and 6), but it's probably correct. Xanderghul and Sorchen were the only two runelords who held onto power since the founding of Thassilon.

Alright, cool. I always found Krune's placing a bit odd, because the lore we have on him mentions that the other six were frightened of his mastery of rune magic.

Liberty's Edge

I guess one has to work a little harder to be more powerful... :-)

He may be the weakest Rune Lord, but that's nothing to sneeze at. Smallest fish in a huge pond. Iirc he's noted as having a special connection with Lissala the rune goddess, so he would probably have some weird prestige class/feats/template if statted up. Something that gives him a slight edge, just enough to make the more powerful Rune Lords think twice before crossing him.

It does sort of make sense that he's the weakest - sloth doesn't lend itself to overachievment after all.

All the Runelords are essentially on the same power tier, I'd say any differences in power are debatable. For instance, Krune may be the "weakest" of the runelords personally, but he may have the most extra-planar contacts and a connection to Lissala that gives him an edge. Belimarius may not have a particularly plentiful or useful domain, but her abjurations stop all other magics from interfering in her realm.

That's not necessarily because they were the two most powerful.

Not in print, but I've got a list in my head that looks something like this, starting with the most powerful runelord at position #1 and counting down to the least powerful one at position #7, with position #4 being the only runelord we have nailed down with a CR score (CR 20).

1: Xhanderghul (pride)
2: Sorshen (lust)
3: Alaznist (wrath)
4: Karzoug (greed)
5: Zutha (gluttony)
6: Belimarius (envy)
7: Krune (sloth)

I was fairly sure Dragonchess was spot on but I checked just in case I failed my Knowledge Obscura: Golarion check.
