Hey I bought a monks robe it gives me a +ac bonus I am not a monk at all
1. what type of bonus is that
2. do i get the bonus while wearing armor under the robe MIthril chain to be exact?
it says it functions like the monks ac so it wouldn't work while wearing armor? yes or no?
It is an unnamed bonus, so it stacks with dodge, morale, natural armor, armor, and shield bonuses (among others). However, it states that it works exactly like the monks AC Bonus class feature, which requires that you unarmored, unencumbered, and not using a shield; with the added exception you don't get the Wisdom bonus to AC either.
So, unfortunately, you do not get the +1 to AC if you wear that mithril chain shirt--or if you use a shield. Really, if you aren't a monk, spending 13,000 gp on a monk's robe for +1 AC is paying far too much gold for what you are going to get out of it.
