Advanceing Animal Companions

Rules Questions

If a druid selects a domain rather than an AC and does not select the Nature domain, does an Animal Companion gained from another source (Oracle of Nature) advance with his druid level?

I really want to play a druid with the Wolf domain but I want an animal companion. Is there any way of accomplishing this?

No, he has chosen not to take that druid class feature and got a different valuable ability instead. If he did take the Nature domain, his companion would advance as that of a Nature domain cleric, not a druid (druid 1-3: no addition, druid 4 and above: companion advances at 3 levels less than his druid level).

The Boon Companion feat might help you, at least up to your Oracle level + 4.

well is there any way to advance a domain without advancing the domain giving class?
